SAFE History

SAFE was formed on May 1st of 2012 after activists from Seattle attended a City Life/Vida Urbana training. Most of the SAFE founders came out of the Occupy movement. Since its inception, SAFE has organized many bank protests, eviction blockades, tenants, homeless, working class people, and community facing displacement and degradation to fight for the human right to housing and build a movement to transform Seattle into a city that works for the 99%. We continue to meet every week to support each other, discuss the issues of the day, and plan regular direct action campaigns to fight for our homes and justice for people in South Seattle.
